FEBELIEC ENERGY FORUM 2026 · SESSION II
One battery. Two jobs. No heavier connection.
On 6 October 2026, our Head of Flexibility presented a case at the Febeliec Energy Forum: a large event venue in Flanders where one battery does two jobs. The full session takes five and a half minutes.
THE SITE
Capped in both directions.
Between fairs the halls use 100 to 150 kW. When a fair builds up, demand jumps within hours. The site has 1.75 MW of rooftop PV and a battery behind one grid connection, with an export limit of 1.75 MVA and an offtake limit of 2.42 MVA.
TWO JOBS
One battery, two schedules.
Event days, behind the meter: the battery is full before the doors open and covers the peaks of build-up and show days. The client plans this up to 72 hours ahead.
All other days: the battery absorbs the site's own PV surplus and is offered to the energy markets.
The needs of the site come first.
THE EXPORT POINT
The injection point is not the client's.
The PV runs under a PPA and the injection point belongs to a third party. Everything that flows through that point is credited to its owner. We settle between the owner and the client, so the value the battery creates ends up with the client.
THE RESULT
More out of the connection it already has.
No heavier connection: 4.5 MVA of capacity behind caps of 1.75 and 2.42 MVA.
Peaks solved on site: not passed on to the network.
Flexibility for the system: from an asset that was already in place.
FOR INSTALLERS
Is your client's connection capped?
Send this page to a client whose connection is full. Three questions decide what a battery can do there: is the connection capped, does the PV run under a PPA, and does the energy contract allow it? Book a call or get the monthly figures.
